RESIDENCE

The project lasted five weeks and was titled ‘Immersive Open Studios’. The effort focused on displaying many immersive installations and creating a shared space for artist to perform in experimental formats.

Below is a walkthrough and a breakdown of the installations that were on display.

Dekstop XP

Blending nostalgic interface aesthetics with real-time graphics shaders and reactive sound, DesktopXP explores the boundary between operating systems and living systems, between control and play, between user and artwork.

SURVEIL

An installation that uses computer vision to interpret human gesutures and create sound.

You don’t watch the screens, the screens watch you.

BUFFER

BUFFER drifts in an endless loop of advertisements, surveilnace and incomplete concepts. Spinning through fragments, collapsing back into color and noise, it waits echoing the quiet desperation of seeking meaning in broken transmissions.

Weekly Programming

Featuring 10 Guest Artirsts and installations

NUMINA

Originally developed for Meraki by an emerald vision, NUMINA invites audience members to recall memories through a series of prompts.

As each prompt is answered, NUMINA develops a unique profile of the user. At the end of the experiment the user’s Numina, the spirit or divine power presiding over them, is revealed.

It is happening again

It is happening again is an ambient room where audience members can manipulate the sound of the space by using an FX pad.

A white horse sits in the back of the room.

The horse beckons the audience to reshape the soundscape based on one’s own impulses.

From observation to creation.

HR Confessional Booth

A confessional space to relieve yourself from the 9-5 lifestyle with the backdrop of Human Resources training videos.
